PVE vibroflots are designed for deep soil improvement through vibro compaction or vibro replacement techniques. These hydraulically driven tools are suspended from crawler cranes and equipped with monitoring systems to track performance and service intervals.
Vibro compaction is used to increase the density of loose, granular soils containing less than 10–15% silt. A vibroflot penetrates the soil with the help of high-pressure water jets, vibration, and saturation. The result is a more compact, stable foundation layer.
Optional extension tubes are available for compaction at depths beyond 80 feet.
When soils contain more silt or are too cohesive for vibro compaction, vibro replacement is used. This technique creates stone or concrete columns to improve load capacity, reduce settlement, and enhance ground stability.
